Occupation forces suppress anti-settlement protest near Nablus, injuries reported

A number of Palestinian citizens, along with international activists and a journalist, sustained light injuries today as Israeli occupation forces dispersed a protest against colonial settlements in the village of Beit Dajan, to the east of Nablus in the occupied West Bank. Ahmed Jibril, a spokesman for the Palestinian Red Crescent in Nablus, reported that three Palestinian citizens sustained direct injuries from tear gas canisters, with one of them suffering facial injuries and two others wounded in the chest. The three were provided with medical treatment by local medics. Jibril added that medical teams also treated 23 cases of suffocation from teargas inhalation, including an international journalist and activist, during the demonstration. The protest, organized by the Popular Committee for the Defense of Beit Dajan’s Lands, began after Friday prayers, with demonstrators marching towards lands threatened by potential seizure by Israeli settlers.
