The Secretary-General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Haitham Al-Ghais, praised Kuwait’s leadership, government, and people Saturday, marking the occasion of the 62nd National Day and the 32nd Liberation Day.

Al-Ghais recalled in a statement to KUNA on this event that he was “honored, along with all my colleagues working in OPEC, to congratulate Kuwait, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.” Al-Ghais expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation for Kuwait’s role in the organization since its establishment in 1960, noting that Kuwait is one of the five member countries that established the organization, has always worked, and continues to work with all member states to achieve the organization’s desired goal, which is to maintain the stability of global oil markets.
