Istanbul The Turkish opposition parties announced that they will nominate their candidate for the presidential elections scheduled for the fourteenth of next May, next Monday, to challenge President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the candidate of the ruling Justice and Development Party.

The six opposition parties confirmed in a statement that their candidate for the thirteenth presidential elections and the road map for the transition process will be officially announced next Monday, and that the leaders of these parties will inform the executive councils of their parties before meeting again next Monday to “participate in the final statement with the public.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced last Wednesday that the elections will take place on May 14, adhering to his previous plan to organize the polls at a date that will come just over 3 months after the devastating earthquake that killed more than 45,000 people in Turkey.
