Pakistan has strongly condemned the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, calling for an immediate cessation of Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, as well as an end to the blockade imposed on the territory.

The spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, expressed in a press briefing held today in Islamabad her country’s profound concern over the severe water and food shortages in Gaza, which have been exacerbated by the Israeli blockade.

Baloch stressed that the recent escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories is a direct result of the unlawful Israeli occupation that has persisted for seven decades. She highlighted the oppression of innocent Palestinians and the blatant violations of United Nations Security Council resolutions by the Israeli government.

Pakistan reaffirmed its demand for a just solution to the Palestinian issue in accordance with United Nations resolutions, calling for the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state on
the pre-1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital.
