Six Palestinian families living in the nomadic Bedouin community of Al-Qaboun, east of Ramallah, have been forced to leave their homes as a result of increased attacks by state-backed Israeli terror settler militias, a Palestinian rights group said today.
Hassan Malihat, the general supervisor of Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights, told WAFA that the six families had no choice but to leave their homes as a result of a sharp rise in almost daily attacks and violence by both Israeli settler militias and the Israeli army.
He said a total of 36 individuals from the Ka’abneh family had to leave the community. They had been displaced from their lands during the Nakba of Palestine in 1948, Malihat added, only to face another story of displacement these days.
Malihat said the displacement of the Bedouin community is a bad omen for other Bedouin communities across the occupied West Bank, who are exposed to a higher risk of displacement and ethnic cleansing as a result of settler attacks.
Last May, around 37 Palestinian families who lived in the Bedouin community of Ein Samiya, east of Ramallah, were also forced out of their homes in the isolated community as a result of daily violence by Israeli settlers.
