Palestinian prisoners in Israel observe a one-day hunger strike in support of other prisoners

The Palestinian prisoners in Israeli occupation jails observed today a one-day hunger strike as a first step in their struggle against repressive policies and in support of demands by other prisoners, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS). The prisoners’ Emergency Committee had issued a statement confirming that this step was taken to demand the immediate release of the cancer-stricken prisoner Walid Daqqa and to end the isolation of other prisoners, including senior faction leaders such as Ahmad Saadat, Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, as well as in rejection of the policy of administrative detention.
