TULKAREM: A Palestinian university student was killed and two other people were wounded by live fire in their lower extremities during an Israeli military incursion into the town of Zita north of Tulkarem, in the northern occupied West Bank.

Earlier tonight, confrontations broke out following a military incursion into the said town, during which forces attacked residents and injured three youths.

Local sources said that Israeli occupation forces opened live fire and tear gas canisters heavily toward residents and prevented ambulances’ access to the scene.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said that its crews dealt with very serious injuries as a result of the attack, which caused a 19-year-old youth Cardiopulmonary arrest. He was transferred to Hospital, where he was declared dead shortly after.

to be noted, ambulance crews only managed to evacuate the injured to the hospital following the army’s withdrawal from the town.

The youth was identified as Nineteen-year-old Khalid Ahmed Zubeid; a sophom
ore student specializing in communications engineering at Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie (PTUK).

Administrator of Thabet Thabet Government Hospital Amin Khader said in a press release following the Israeli offensive, that Zubeidi was killed after being shot in the waist by the army’s live ammunition and being severely beaten up by soldiers.

He noted that signs of beatings were evident on the young youth’s body as a result of the beatings.

A computed tomography scan revealed an entry wound where the bullet pierced his body through the waist, along with bullet shrapnel, which caused him severe internal hemorrhaging.
