RAMALLAH: The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Gaza Strip increased sharply by 27% , in February 2024, as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression for the fifth consecutive month, according to a report by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).

The overall Consumer Price Index CPI for Palestine during February 2024 recorded a sharp increase by 8.20% compared with January 2024 (27.25% in Gaza Strip, by 0.66% in Jerusalem J1, and with a slight increase of 0.02% in the West Bank).

The changes in Palestinian CPI during February 2024 were traced back to changes in prices of the following expenditure sub groups compared with previous month:

The Palestinian CPI during February 2024 increased by 27.18% compared with Febr
uary 2023 (118.11% in Gaza Strip, 4.89% Jerusalem J1, and by 3.68% in the West Bank).
