Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi said that the people of Gaza needs international community to move to protect them, as their suffering is deepening due to the dangerous escalation there.

Safadi made his remarks during a several phone conversations with a number of his counterparts.

During the conversations with the foreign ministers, Safadi said that allowing the immediate delivery of food aid, water, fuel and electricity to Gaza is a moral and legal responsibility for the entire international community, and depriving Gazans of these basic necessities of life is a clear violation of international humanitarian law, especially the Fourth Geneva Convention, and a violation of all humanitarian values ??and principles.

Safadi said that the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) is practicing unprecedented efforts on the ground to help civilians, but it does not have the capabilities and funding necessary to per
form its duty, which obliges the international community to provide the immediate support it needs.

Safadi warned against any attempt to displace Palestinians from Gaza to Egypt and spread the crisis to the neighboring countries, stressing all Arab countries will collectively confront such attempt.

Safadi’s talks included the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Joseph Borrell, Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly, Norwegian Foreing Minister Anniken Huitfeldt and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

Safadi also held talks with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Bahraini Foreign Minister, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri and Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita.

Under the directive of His Majesty King Abdullah II, Safadi is pursuing intensive contacts with his counterparts to launch immediate action to end the escalation and
