The Secretary-General of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Hussein al-Sheikh, today discussed with the new European Union Representative in Palestine, Alexandre Stutzmann, the latest regional and international developments. Al-Sheikh said in a statement that they also discussed ‘the important and effective role of the European Union in finding a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and ending the occupation.’ He said that the European Union Representative ‘affirmed the Union’s firm support for the Palestinian cause and for a just and equitable two-state solution to the Palestinian issue.’
