The digital manufacturing center at the Arab Organization for Industrialization’s (AOI) engine factory in Cairo’s Helwan neighborhood is a project of great importance that is part of the State’s efforts to entrench local industry, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said.
Madbouli made the remarks during the opening ceremony of the center of Saturday 17/12/2022, in the presence of Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir, Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal, former board chairman of the AOI Maj. Gen. Mokhtar Abdel Latif, and Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities for Infrastructure Affairs Sayed Ismail.
Abdel Latif said the project has been executed in pursuance of presidential directives to increase the level of local content and deepening the manufacturing base at the AOI.
He thanked the premier for attending the inauguration of the new center, which has crowned a longstanding partnership between the organization and the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, in cooperation with major global companies.
The project seeks to localize the manufacturing technology of all types of pumps to meet local needs, and export the surplus to Arab and African states, while creating more job opportunities for young engineers and technicians, Abdel Latif pointed out.
Meanwhile, the factory director said the center is the most advanced of its kind in Egypt, as it is supported by a full industrial digitalization system.
For his part, the director of the production sector said the center had obtained many globally recognized quality certificates, including environmental, as well as occupational health and safety certifications, calibration certificate, and the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification.
