Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said on Monday all oversight bodies are directed to set a deadline for all shops and retailers to start placing a price tag on each item or sample of the items they are displaying for sale.

In a meeting with Supply Minister Ali Moselhi and Chairman of the Consumer Protection Agency Ayman Hossam, Madbouli asserted that the business of any retailer who violates the price tag regulations will be closed and its commodities will be seized and resold to the citizens.

The meeting came as part of efforts to follow up on the market situation and prices of commodities in light of the unreasonable hikes in prices.

Meanwhile, Moselhi noted that he would meet with local officials nationwide to coordinate with them in order to implement the latest government decisions and measures that are meant to regulate the local market activities.
