PM chairs 1st meeting of Supreme Council for Ports after its reformation

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli chaired on Monday evening27/6/2022 the first meeting of the Supreme Council for Ports after its reformation.

During the meeting, attended by a host of high-level officials, the premier underlined the crucial role played by the Supreme Council for Ports in developing Egypt’s seaport system, said Cabinet Spokesman Nader Saad in statements on Tuesday28/6/2022.

Madbouli stressed the need of putting forward proposals in a way that enhance this vital sector in implementation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to continue efforts to upgrade the Egyptian seaport system as per the highest standards, taking advantage of Egypt’s distinguished geographical location and the Suez Canal axis, which is a vital link between the East and the West, and in a manner that helps boost trade exchange between Egypt and various world countries, the spokesman said.

The meeting also took up the study which has been prepared to amend the tasks of the maritime transport sector, given its crucial role in enhancing the national economy, the spokesman added.
