PM: Egypt supports Tunisia in all fields to achieve stability

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli asserted that Egypt is backing Tunisia in all fields in order to achieve stability, voicing thanks to Tunisian Prime Minister Najla Bouden on the warm welcome he received in Tunisia.

Addressing the opening session of the Egyptian-Tunisian Economic Forum, Madbouli said this forum comes at a very critical timing in view of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict on the global economy, putting more burden of rising inflation on the world countries.

He said the implementation of specific financial policies is the optimum solution for such economic crisis along with the need for achieving an industrial growth and reducing the importation of products to reduce the bill of foreign currency.

The premier highlighted the economic reform program achieved by Egypt and the positive reviews on it by various global foundations, reviewing the measures taken by the government as regards the tax and labor legislations as well as involvement of the private sector in the infrastructure projects.

He said the government will also work on establishing major companies whose shares would be floated at the bourse for citizens, adding that other programs will be carried out by the government in the coming phase to lure in foreign investments in the fields of energy, communication and the green economy.

The premier also voiced hope that this year would witness more economic cooperation between Egypt and Tunisia, noting that several joint agreements will be signed in the various fields.

Meanwhile, the Tunisian premier welcomed the Egyptian premier and all Egyptian officials accompanying him. She said the forum involved representatives of the various economic sectors with the aim of promoting ties between the two countries.

She said the legal framework of bilateral cooperation is very good and enough to boost mutual ties and improve the level of businesses.

Bouden also underlined the national strategy of Tunisia to improve the energy sector and diversify the energy sources, noting that she is looking forward to cooperation with Egypt in the fields of infrastructure and construction.

The premier also asserted the need for easing measures to beef up the Egyptian-Tunisian cooperation in all fields in order to reach a positive outcome.
