PM follows up GEM’s yard development project

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli on Saturday 24/09/2022 paid an inspection tour of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) to follow up restoration work being conducted on King Khufu’s second solar boat, as well as the current situation of the ongoing project to develop the area surrounding the museum.

 

The solar boat project’s second phase includes the final restoration, reassembly and installation of the boat, after all the pieces that have been extracted from their discovery site near the Great Pyramid of Khufu, and restored by the museum’s laboratories, Atef Moftah, the General Supervisor of the Grand Egyptian Museum, told the premier.

 

All assembly work is carried out inside the new King Khufu boats Building inside the museum, he added.

 

Also, a development project of the road network surrounding the Grand Egyptian Museum is currently being completed, Madbouli said.

 

The project includes the expansion of the Ring Road around Greater Cairo, the Cairo/Alexandria Desert Road, and the Cairo-Fayoum Desert Road from Remaya Square to the Middle Ring Road, he added.
