Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said Sunday that the government targets pushing forward the tourism sector to contribute to boosting the country’s growth to reach unprecedented levels.

Madbouli’s comments came during his meeting with Tourism and Antiquities Minister Ahmed Eissa, where they discussed some files on the Ministry of Tourism’s plans.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has underscored the importance of increasing the number of tourists visiting Egypt and target new tourist markets, the premier said.

The meeting touched on the country’s efforts to overcome the problems that could face the tourist investors and re-operating the troubled projects and hotels, especially in Sharm el Sheikh.

For his side, Eissa praised the achievements of the previous tourism minister and talented staff within the tourism Ministry, and briefed Madbouli on his activities and meetings since came to office recently.
