Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli reviewed Wednesday a report conducted by the Unified Procurement Authority on its cooperation with the UK National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

In the report, President of the Unified Procurement Authority Bahaa el Din Zidan pointed out that the second phase of cooperation program with NICE has been launched and that it focuses on institutionalizing Health Technology Assessment (HTA) in Egypt.

This project, backed by the British Embassy in Cairo, is deemed a breakthrough for stepping up cooperation between Cairo and London in the field of Pharmaco economics as it aims to support the health technology assessment system in Egypt by applying best practices in this regard and striking a balance between providing best services to citizens and embracing innovation and ensuring value for money, he added.

The new stage will come into effect as of January.
