RAMALLAH: The official spokesman for the Palestinian Presidency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, denounced the statements made by Benjamin Netanyahu regarding plans for Israel’s ground invasion into Rafah city in southern of Gaza Strip, where millions of displaced Palestinians are sheltering.

‘We warn of the seriousness of Netanyahu’s statements, in which he rejected President Biden’s demands, which considered invading the city of Rafah a red line, and confirmed his continued preparations for the aggression against the city, which is home to more than 1.8 million Palestinians, most of whom were forcibly displaced from their homes destroyed by Israeli airstrikes in the northern and central Gaza Strip.”

Abu Rudeina affirmed that such statements indicate the true intentions of the Israeli occupation to commit more war crimes and genocide against the Palestinian people and continue its attempts to displace them from their land.

He also strongly condemned the restrictions imposed on Palestinians during the holy month of Ra
madan with regard to entering Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Abu Rudeina called on the American administration to take concrete actions regarding Israel’s planned invasion of Rafah.

“What is required now is an American political will to transform the important statements of the American administration regarding the storming of the city of Rafah into real actions on the ground.”

He urgently called on the American administration to oblige Israel to stop its ongoing aggression and slaughtered which has so far resulted in over 31,112 reported fatalities, the majority of whom are children, women and elderly men.

Abu Rudeina pointed out that President Mahmoud Abbas’s demands are to immediately halt the aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, not to invade the city of Rafah and to prevent the forced displacement of Palestinians , which are red lines that pose a danger to the entire region.

President Abbas also said that Israeli occupation authorities must stop their aggression on the Palestinian people in
the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
