RAMALLAH: President Mahmoud Abbas welcomed today U.S. National Security Advisor Jack Sullivan at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah.

During the meeting, President Abbas emphasized the urgent need to halt the ongoing Israeli aggression, particularly the genocide being carried out these days upon the Palestinian people in Gaza, demanding to spare civilians from the woes and devastation caused by the Israeli war machine.

The President reiterated the necessity of opening all crossings, increasing the delivery of humanitarian, medical, and food aid, and swiftly providing water, electricity, and fuel. He also reiterated the need for rehabilitation of hospitals and essential facilities in Gaza, enabling them to treat the numerous casualties and provide services to the Palestinian population.

President Abbas urged the U.S. administration to intervene and compel Israel to cease its aggression in the West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem. The aggression involves incursions into Palestinian cities and r
efugee camps, the killing of civilians, the destruction of infrastructure, attacks on Islamic and Christian holy sites, and crimes of ethnic cleansing.

The President also addressed the Israeli punitive and oppressive measures taken against Palestinian detainees, calling for an immediate cessation of such actions and violations against the prisoners and the Palestinian people.

President Abbas reiterated his rejection of forced displacement of Palestinians, whether in Gaza or the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. He highlighted ongoing forced displacement and silent annexation of Palestinian land by extremist settler militias and the Israeli military in the West Bank, emphasizing the need for serious U.S. intervention to prevent such policies that violate international legitimacy and law.

Emphasizing that Gaza is an integral part of the State of Palestine, the President underscored that separation or any attempt to isolate any part of it is unacceptable. He insisted on the release of Palestinian tax reven
ues-currently withheld by Israel-with the priority being the people of Gaza, asserting that they are the responsibility of the State of Palestine, and that the leadership will not abandon them.

President Abbas reiterated the comprehensive political vision, emphasizing the necessity for Palestine to attain full membership in the United Nations. He stressed that peace and security in the region can only be achieved through the implementation of a two-state solution, based on international legitimacy resolutions, encompassing the entirety of the State of Palestine in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza.

He emphasized that military and security solutions have proven to be futile and will not bring security and stability to the region.
