RAMALLAH: President Mahmoud Abbas welcomed today Samantha Power, the Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah.

During the meeting, President Abbas briefed the guest on the latest developments regarding the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, especially in the Gaza Strip, as well as the efforts made to immediately halt the Israeli war of genocide.

The President further stressed the importance of expediting the entry of essential humanitarian, relief, and medical aid into the Gaza Strip in order to enable shelters and hospitals to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians during these challenging times.

President Abbas reiterated the State of Palestine’s unequivocal rejection of the displacement of any Palestinian citizen, whether in the Gaza Strip or the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

He affirmed that Gaza is an integral part of the State of Palestine, and that any plan by Israel, the occupying p
ower, to separate it from the rest of Palestinian land or annex any part of it is utterly rejected.

The President underscored the imperative to halt the Israeli occupation’s continuous attacks against the Palestinian people in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, the crimes of terrorist colonists, and the withholding of Palestinian clearance funds.

President Abbas acknowledged the potential role of the USAID in providing assistance to the Palestinian people, especially in the challenging conditions resulting from the ongoing Israeli aggression, particularly in Gaza.

He emphasized the importance of increasing humanitarian aid to Gaza, including its northern region, as well as the return of U.S. aid programs in infrastructure, health, education, energy, and economic revitalization in both the West Bank and Gaza.

The President further emphasized the importance of achieving a political solution, beginning with the recognition of the State of Palestine and enabling it to get full membership in the United N
ations, leading to an international peace conference to end the occupation.
