RAMALLAH: President Mahmoud Abbas received an invitation today to attend the Christmas Eve and Midnight Mass according to the Eastern calendar.

The invitation was extended during a meeting at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah, where President Abbas welcomed the Patriarchal Vicar for the Orthodox Christians in the Church of the Nativity, Archbishop Vindictus, and the spokesperson for the Jerusalem Patriarchate of the Greek Orthodox Church, Father Issa Musleh, along with Father Issa Thaljieh, the pastor of the Orthodox Church of the Nativity.

During the meeting, President Abbas expressed his congratulations to the Palestinian people and the Christian communities, especially those following the Eastern calendar, on the occasion of the upcoming Christmas.

He conveyed his sincere wishes for a peaceful holiday, expressing hope that the holidays would coincide with an end to the Israeli aggression and a halt in the Palestinian bloodshed, allowing peace to prevail in the land of peace.
