President Mahmoud Abbas today received at the presidential headquarters in the city of Ramallah the White House envoy and the National Security Advisor to the US Vice President, Philip Gordon.

The President stressed to the American official the necessity of the American administration’s immediate intervention and pressure on the Israeli occupation government to stop its ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, the price of which is paid by the defenseless people who are subjected to an unprecedented genocide, in which more than 60,000 civilians, children and women have been killed.

He said that the Israeli killing machine violated all prohibitions by targeting civilians, hospitals, and shelter centers, and did not leave any safe place for the people to take refuge from these massacres that are being committed without accountability by the international community.

‘We will not allow the forced displacement of our Palestinian people to take place, whether in the Gaza Strip or the
West Bank, including Jerusalem,’ said the President, stressing the need for the American side to intervene to prevent the attacks, murders, demolition of homes, and displacement of the Palestinian population carried out by the Israeli occupation authorities and terrorist colonists in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the Jordan Valley areas, which are witnessing silent and premeditated annexation.

The President stressed the need to increase the entry of relief, medical and food supplies, provide water, electricity and fuel as quickly as possible, and provide the necessary aid so that hospitals and basic facilities in the Gaza Strip can resume their work to treat thousands of wounded and provide services to the people.

‘We will not and have not abandoned our people in the Gaza Strip, regardless of the sacrifices. The Gaza Strip is an integral part of the Palestinian state, and the plans of the occupation authorities to separate, occupy, cut off, or isolate any part of the Gaza Strip are completely rejected and w
ill not be implemented,’ said President Abbas, stressing the need to release the Palestinian clearance and tax funds held by the Israeli occupation authorities.

The President stressed that implementing the two-state solution based on international legitimacy resolutions requires the State of Palestine to obtain its full membership in the United Nations by a decision of the Security Council and to hold an international peace conference to provide international guarantees and a timetable for implementation, and to assume full responsibility for the entire Palestinian territory in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, stressing that peace and security are achieved by ending the Israeli occupation of the entire territory of the State of Palestine along the 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and resolving the issue of refugees and their return in accordance with Resolution 194.

‘Security and military solutions have proven their failure and will not achieve security and stabili
ty for the region,’ stressed the President.
