RAMALLAH: President Mahmoud Abbas received today a French delegation headed by Gerard Larcher, President of the French Senate, at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah.

During the meeting, the President stressed the need to stop the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people through an immediate ceasefire and to stop the genocides in the Gaza Strip to spare civilians from the scourge of killings and mass destruction carried out by the Israeli killing machines.

He reiterated the need to open all crossings with the besieged Gaza Strip, double the entry of relief and medical aid and food items into the Strip, and provide it with water, electricity, and fuel as soon as possible.

He stressed the need to provide the necessary assistance required to resume the work of hospitals and basic facilities in Gaza to be able to treat and tend to the thousands of wounded and provide health services to our people there.

He also stressed the need to compel Israel to stop its aggression against our people
in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, particularly its incursions into cities, villages, and camps, the killing of civilians, and the destruction of infrastructure.

He further stressed the need to oblige Israel to stop its attacks on Islamic and Christian sanctities and end its crimes of ethnic cleansing, among others.

The President reiterated his rejection of the forced displacement of the Palestinian people, both in the Gaza Strip and in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, warning that the West Bank is also subjected to forced displacement and the silent annexation of Palestinian land by terrorist colonists and the occupation army.

He stressed that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the Palestinian state, and any plans of the occupation authorities to separate it will not be accepted or dealt with.

President Abbas also stressed the need to release the Palestinian tax funds withheld by Israel, while emphasizing that priority will be for Gaza, which he stressed will not be abandoned and is th
e responsibility of the State of Palestine.

He also reiterated the comprehensive political vision and the need for the State of Palestine to gain full membership in the United Nations and to hold the International Peace Conference.

President Abbas said that peace and security can only be achieved through the recognition of the State of Palestine and the implementation of the two-state solution, which encompasses the entire territory of the State of Palestine in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, based on the resolutions of international legitimacy.

He affirmed that security and military solutions have proven their failure and will not achieve peace and security in the region.

The president praised France’s positions in favor of the Palestinian people and their just rights, and for the assistance it provides to our people in the Gaza Strip.
