President Christodoulides had working lunch with European Council President Charles Michel

The Presidents of the European Council and Cyprus, Charles Michel and Nikos Christodoulides, had a meeting at 13:00 (local time, 14:00 Cyprus time) on Wednesday, ahead of the upcoming summit of the European Council on Thursday and Friday. During the meeting, which lasted about one and a half hours, Christodoulides was expected to brief Michel on the government’s point of view about the role that the EU can have in promoting the resumption of negotiations. The agenda of the European Council on Thursday and Friday will include a working lunch with UNSG Antonio Guterres, as well as discussions on the situation in Ukraine, EU competitiveness and issues related to energy.
