I am closely following the current situation in Iraq, and I am saddened by the outcome of the current developments in this brotherly country, which shares strong historical bonds of fraternity and Arabism with Egypt.
Affirming Egypt’s full support for the security and stability of Iraq and the safety of its brotherly people, I call on all Iraqi parties to uphold the supreme interest of their homeland in order to overcome the political crisis through dialogue and to achieve stability, security and prosperity for the Iraqis.
