RAMALLAH: The Higher Presidential Committee of Church Affairs today said that all efforts made to cease fire and end this “criminal, fascist aggression” against the Palestinian people have completely failed due to Israeli arrogance and the inability of the international community and its institutions to implement its decisions.

Chairman of the Committee, Ramzi Khoury, called for the international institutions to stop this war of genocide waged against the Palestinian people, force Israel to comply with international laws and the Geneva Conventions, and stop committing more war crimes against our people.

Khoury pointed out to the hideous massacre committed by the occupation against hundreds of civilians while they were awaiting for the arrival of food trucks in Al-Rashid Street, west of Gaza City, which resulted in the tragic killing of 116 people.

In a statement, Khoury, said the deadly attack on aid seekers was ‘unprecedented in the history of war crimes’

He said that Israeli`s policy of killing continue
d to claim the lives of Palestinian people for about five months. Highlighting Israel’s war of starvation waged against innocent persons in Gaza, as a result of the siege and the prevention of the entry of humanitarian aid in all its forms despite the UN Security Council resolutions and the resolution The International Court of Justice, all of which demanded that Israel enter all this aid and not obstruct its delivery to the Gaza Strip.

He added that about two million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have been forcibly displaced, and are suffering from harsh conditions that lack the most basic components of human life amid deprivation, hunger, and the spread of diseases in the places where they south refuge to.

He affirmed that around 30,000 victims, more than 7,000 are still missing under the ruble of bombed houses, and more than 70, 000 wounded, the majority of whom are children and women. Adding, “Two-thirds of homes and infrastructure were massively destructed,

The health and medical centers are facing a
real catastrophe as a result of the deliberate targeting of health facilities. Several hospitals in Gaza were out out of service, Khoury added.

The Chairman of the Committee appealed to the churches around the world to make every effort to stop this catastrophe that our people are experiencing in the Gaza Strip and to have a loud voice against these massacres and deliberate genocide.

He also called worldwide countries and international institutions for an immediate ceasefire and to allow the entry of relief material and stop military supplies to Israel.

He further called for halting the crimes committed by the occupation in the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem.
