Public Security Directorate (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Obeidallah Maaitah Tuesday ordered the implementation of a security, humanitarian and traffic plan to ensure a safe and relaxed atmosphere during the holy month of Ramadan. He told PSD personnel to continue their efforts to serve citizens and residents alike as part of social responsibility, and create “an atmosphere of security, reassurance and social solidarity” during the fasting month. Maytah said traffic patrols will seek to ensure a smooth movement of vehicles and reduce offenses, particularly on highways, markets and public places. Police units in the regional commands have increased their readiness, stepping up patrols in uniform or plainclothes inside cities, residential neighborhoods, public venues and commercial centers bustling with shoppers in Ramadan, he said. For its part, the Civil Defense Directorate also said it will closely coorinate with the PSD and work around the clock to ensure services are not interrupted under any circumstances.
