Baghdad, Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi said, during his meeting today, Sunday, Minister of Defense, Thabet Muhammad Saeed Redha Al-Abbasi: The Islamic Republic supports the Iraqi government’s efforts for economic and military reconstruction in this country, stressing at the same time that Iraq must not turn into a place for plotting or threatening against its neighbors.
Raisi said, “according to the Iranian news agency IRNA, the common borders between Iran and Iraq are the borders of friendship and cooperation, stressing that the Islamic Republic considers Iraq’s security to be part of its security, and supports efforts aimed at strengthening stability and security in this country.”
For his part, Al-Abbasi expressed his appreciation for Iran’s supportive positions towards the Iraqi people during the period of external aggression and the attack of ISIS elements, stressing that Baghdad will not allow the lurkers to threaten the security and stability of the two countries (Iran and Iraq).
During the meeting with Raisi today, the Minister of Defense called on the Islamic Republic of Iran to continue its support to the Iraqi government and people in the midst of the current reconstruction conditions in his country.
