RCJA Calls for Media to Highlight Israeli Actions Against Palestinians

AMMAN: The Secretary-General of the Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs (RCJA), Abdullah Kanaan, has called on the media to increase their efforts in exposing what he describes as Israel's aggressive actions against Palestinians. This appeal comes amid ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, particularly affecting the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Lebanon. According to Jordan News Agency, Kanaan made these remarks during Global Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Week, emphasizing the media's professional duty to communicate the experiences of the Palestinian people to a global audience. Kanaan urged media professionals to amplify their efforts to provide relief to Palestinian victims and to advocate for an end to what he termed as Israel's war and genocide. Kanaan criticized certain Western media outlets for promoting what he described as a false Israeli-Zionist narrative. He called on Arab, Islamic, and international media to present a more accurate portrayal of the situation, using multiple languages, including English and Hebrew, to convey the severity of the crisis affecting the Palestinian people for over a year. Kanaan also highlighted Jordan's ongoing support for the Palestinian people, noting the country's historical role under its King's leadership in overseeing Jerusalem's Islamic and Christian holy sites. He reiterated Jordan's commitment to defending Palestinian rights and ensuring their voices are heard globally.
