RDCL MEETS WITH POLISH AMBASSADOR TO LEBANON IN EFFORTS OF ENHANCING BUSINESS RELATIONS WITH POLAND

The Lebanese Business Leaders Association RDCL welcomed H.E Przemyslaw Niesiolowski, Ambassador of Poland to Lebanon, along with Mr. Mateusz Ananicz, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Poland in Beirut and Mr. Mariusz Stachnik, Chairman of the Mazovia Cluster ICT. The meeting took place on March 28th at RDCL headquarters, in presence of many RDCL members representing several fields from the private sector, as well as representatives from the Beirut Digital District (BDD), in aims of enhancing B2B networking between Polish and Lebanese entrepreneurs.

The decision to organize the meeting was made following the announcement of Mr. Stachnik’s visit to Lebanon, and Mazovia Cluster ICT’s nomination as the key national cluster by the Polish government, connecting over 400 enterprises from the SME sector, in addition to large entities.

Mr. Nicolas Boukather, President of RDCL, introduced the association, and mentioned that “the Lebanese private sector is on the look out for opening up markets for their services, products and know how, whereby the private sector contributes substantially in reversing the balance of payment current deficit”. Mr. Boukather also by introduced the current ASPIRE project of RDCL and welcomed all potential new opportunities to develop new business relationships with Poland.

Mr. Mariusz Stachnik, Chairman of the Mazovia Cluster ICT, introduced the cluster and explained the concept and business strategy it follows. The cluster offers business and projects financing, R&D and administrative support and today seeks to find new opportunities in Lebanon and develop business strategies from which both countries can benefit.

H.E Przemyslaw Niesiolowski, Ambassador of Poland to Lebanon, talked about the development of Poland over the last three decades, and stated: “what we are trying to do through this visit, is to expose the business communities of both countries to one another” despite all the challenges in Lebanon. He explained that “the polish economy is very diversified, and that there’s relatively a new development, as the new generation is passionate and hungry for success and work. Therefore, this is an opportunity that Lebanon should seize”.

Lastly, H.E Mr. Niesiolowski and Mr. Stachnik cited Poland’s fields of expertise which Lebanon can consider doing business in, such as agriculture, medical technologies, fintehchs, pharmaceuticals, wood furniture, renewable energy, among others.

The participants showed interest in exploring joint business opportunities. Respective B2B business exploration and fact finding delegations will be organized soon.
