Remittances from Tunisians living abroad exceeded TND 7 billion in the first week of December 2023, Director General of the Office of Tunisians Abroad (OTE) Moncef Kharbi said on Wednesday.

These remittances have helped increase foreign currency assets and have covered 65% of the foreign debt, he told the media on the sidelines of a national conference on migrant families organised by OTE.

Some two million Tunisians live abroad.
