UMM AL QAIWAIN: H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, hosted a luncheon in honor of the guests of the 18th Umm Al Qaiwain Festival for Purebred Arabian Camel Racing, which was organised in Al Labsa Square with the participation of camel owners from the United Arab Emirates and the GCC States. The luncheon was attended by H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Qaiwain.

H.H. Sheikh Saud welcomed the guests participating in the festival as well as the attendees from the tribes and followers who flocked to the Al Labsa Square Racecourse to watch the annual event.

‘This signifiant heritage festival serves as an important bridge between UAE tribes and their kin across the Arabian Gulf, fostering fair competition among camel owners. More than just a race, it fuels national pride and imbues future generations with the essence of our shared legacy. In this way, it preserves the authentic Arab identity, customs, and traditions we
cherish, being a timeless inheritance bestowed upon us by our ancestors,’ he said.

During the event, poets spun verses laced with patriotism and reverence for the UAE’s leadership, extolling their dedication to preserve Emirati heritage.

Camel racing, as an integral thread in the tapestry of their identity, took centre stage in their rhymes.
