Russia on Sunday claimed it prevented eight sabotage attempts against its forces in Ukraine’s Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions. A statement by the Russian Defense Ministry claimed that five of these attempts were conducted by Ukrainian forces in the Stelmakhivka settlement in the Luhansk region and the Synkivka, Lyman Pershyi and Berestovoye settlements in the Kharkiv region. The statement further claimed that three sabotage attempts in the settlements of Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, and Levadne and Marfopil in the Zaporizhzhia region were thwarted. Now in its second year, the Russia-Ukraine war has so far killed 8,173 civilians and injured 13,620, according to the latest UN figures.
