Russian delegation explores Zayed Higher Organisation’s expertise in rehabilitation


ABU DHABI: The Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination welcomed a delegation from the Sverdlovsk Region in the Russian Federation, accompanied by representatives from Ural Federal University.

Over the course of three days, the delegation learned about the organisation’s exemplary practices in caring for and rehabilitating determined individuals. The visit encompassed training sessions on the cognitive neuro-psychological scale for children and an in-depth exploration of the educational, rehabilitative, psychological, and social healthcare services provided by the organisation.

Discussions during the visit revolved around fostering existing collaborations between the organisation and the university, with plans for joint participation in upcoming conferences such as the Autism Conference in April and the International Rehabilitation Conference in September of the current year.

The delegation was received by Abdullah Abdulali Al-Humaidan, the Secretary-General of the organisation, and other prom
inent leaders.

Expressing his gratitude for the ongoing collaboration, Al-Humaidan praised the shared efforts in areas such as artificial intelligence, establishment of psychological and neurological diagnostic labs, exchange of academic materials, and joint research projects. He emphasized the significance of such partnerships in enhancing the organisation’s capabilities and fulfilling its mission.

The visit included a comprehensive overview of the organisation’s services and its commitment to implementing the highest standards of care and rehabilitation. Highlighting the incorporation of global technologies and best practices, the presentation underscored the organisation’s dedication to advancing the well-being of determined individuals.

As part of the strategic partnership between the Zayed Higher Organisation and the Ural Federal University, a specialized three-day training program was organized for psychological specialists. The training focused on the neuro-psychological diagnosis scale for children
, presented by Professor Sergei Kiseliev, head of the Brain Development and Neural Cognition Laboratory at the university. This initiative aims to equip professionals with effective strategies for assisting children, drawing from the pioneering work of Russian psychologist Alexander Luria.

Pavel Vladimirovich Krikov, Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, highlighted the visit as a significant step towards strengthening cooperation between regions. He extended an invitation for further engagement, including participation in the “SOCIO” forum dedicated to comprehensive rehabilitation issues, scheduled to be held in Yekaterinburg in May.

Professor Sergei Kiseliev affirmed that the neuro-psychological approach to assisting children, developed by the Russian psychologist Alexander Luria, contributes to improving understanding of brain development by comprehending how children’s brains evolve and how this impacts their behaviour and cognitive abilities. It can help specialists identify children’s brain develo
pment problems and challenges. The neuro-psychological approach can assist professionals in the caregiving field by providing effective strategies and methods to aid children experiencing delays in brain development or specific cognitive disorders.

Throughout the visit, the delegation gained insights into the Zayed Higher Organisation’s strategic projects and programs, witnessing firsthand its dedication to empowering individuals with determination. From vocational training to innovative rehabilitation facilities, the delegation experienced the breadth of services offered, leaving with a deeper understanding of the organisation’s impactful work.

The exchange of knowledge and experiences between the Sverdlovsk Region, Ural Federal University, and the Zayed Higher Organisation signifies a meaningful partnership aimed at advancing the well-being and inclusion of determined individuals on a global scale.
