SHARJAH: The training and qualification workshops, organised by the Sharjah Foundation to Support Pioneering Entrepreneurs (RUWAD), are set to commence tomorrow, topped by the launch of the second edition of the Entrepreneurial Guidance Programme for Sharjah Government Employees, known as ‘Entrepreneurship Ambassadors’.

The programme is based on the London School of Economics (LSE) curriculum in entrepreneurship. The workshops, involving the participation of 25 employees, will span two weeks, comprising eight training days at the Sharjah Research, Technology, and Innovation Complex.

According to Fatima Al Ali, Acting Director of RUWAD, the organisation of the second edition builds on the success achieved in the inaugural edition in 2023. The first edition saw the graduation of 12 employees representing various government entities in Sharjah. Al Ali highlighted the uniqueness of the programme as the first of its kind in the region, focusing on preparing government professionals specialised in entrepreneurial
guidance.

Fatima Al Ali emphasised that the programme aims to boost the local economy by supporting the entrepreneurial environment in the emirate and expanding efforts to encourage young citizens to initiate and establish small and medium-sized projects. The programme also seeks to explore and discuss the concept of entrepreneurial guidance, the future economy of entrepreneurship, and the role of entrepreneurial organisations in achieving development.

The training workshop sessions will revolve around two main focal points, with the first week concentrating on the principles of entrepreneurial guidance, while participants in the second week will delve into the fundamentals of entrepreneurship.
