Sadd el-Kafara historical site designated as archaeological area

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli has issued Decree No. 1130/2023, designating Sadd el-Kafara historical site in Wadi Garawi, Cairo, as an archaeological area.

The 25-feddan area is located in eastern El Tebbin locality, about 35km south of Cairo on the east bank of the Nile. Sadd el-Kafara (also spelled as Sadd al-Kufra) is an ancient Egyptian dam built around 2560 BCE.
