Planning and Economic Development Minister Dr Hala el Said discussed with Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati vistas of bilateral cooperation in light of Egypt’s hosting of the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP27) to the UN Framework Climate Change Convention (UNFCCC) and Indonesia’s presidency of an upcoming meeting of the G20 Heads of State and Government Summit.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the annual sessions of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), which ended in the Egyptian Red Sea resort city of Sharm el Sheikh late Saturday.

A statement by the ministry said on Monday6/6/2022 that the two ministers tackled ways of cooperation in overcoming challenges and geopolitical changes facing world countries and their economic and social problems.

They also reviewed means to support efforts made by different countries in the world to face the challenges and come up with good economic results, in addition to the family development plan.

Said asserted the importance of building up on the outcome of COP26 conference held last May, pointing out to launching the National Strategy for Climate Change.

For her part, Indrawati affirmed Indonesia’s presidency of G20 summit is offering a big opportunity for boosting efforts of transformation toward green economy.
