SANS Ranks Second Globally in Airspace Management

Riyadh, The Civil Air Navigation Services Organization (CANSO), in collaboration with Air Traffic Management (ATM) Magazine, has announced that Saudi Air Navigation Services (SANS) ranked second globally in the Air Traffic Management (ATM) Awards 2022 for the Airspace Management category, amid intense competition with major global companies specialized in air traffic management.

This achievement affirms the development of Saudi Arabia’s aviation sector under the unwavering support of its wise leadership. Moreover, it marks the first milestone of Saudi Arabia’s new air navigation strategy, which aims to become the world’s leading airspace service provider and international leader for the air transport industry by offering advanced and innovative technological solutions aligned with the Saudi Aviation Strategy. This strategy aims to make the Saudi aviation sector the first in the Middle East, increase the number of passengers to 300 million, boost air cargo capacity to 4.5 million tons, and raise air connectivity to 250 destinations to and from Saudi Arabia’s airports by 2030.

Out of more than 80 companies competing for the award, SANS won the second rank for its “Dual Flip Business Continuity Area Control Centers” project after being shortlisted among four companies. This recognition highlights the Kingdom’s importance in the international civil aviation sector, emphasizes the significance given to air safety and performance efficiency for air monitors, and strengthens Saudi Arabia’s position as a regional and global leader in the aviation industry.
