Minister of Manpower Mohamed Saafan said Monday that the labor office affiliated to the Egyptian consulate in Jeddah has received a report from the Saudi authorities on applying new rules as regards the coronavirus vaccination for travelers to and from the Kingdom as of Wednesday.
In a statement released on Monday, Manpower Ministry Spokesman Haitham Saad ElDin said the report, a copy of which was received by Labor Office Chief Walid Abdel Raziq, is part of the Egyptian labor office’s follow up of the latest developments pertaining to Egyptian workers conditions amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Meanwhile, Abdel Raziq said such rules include that all travelers from Saudi Arabia will be required to take a third Covid-19 booster shot to be able to travel abroad starting Feb. 9.
The kingdom is also requiring visitors to present a negative PCR result before entry, he added.
It is mandatory for Saudi citizens wishing to travel outside to take the booster dose (third) of the Covid-19 vaccine after three months since receiving the second dose, except for age groups who are less than 16 years old, or groups excluded and as indicated in the Tawakkalna app. released by the Saudi authorities to ensure that citizens have received their shots, he explained.
