Senate committee, Azerbaijani envoy talk ties

The Senate’s Jordanian-Azerbaijani Brotherhood Committee, chaired by Senator Mufleh Rahimi, held a meeting on Tuesday, with the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan Eldar Salimov to discuss bilateral relations and means of strengthening and building on them in various fields. Rahimi hailed the “distinguished” level of relations between the two countries, especially on the economic and political fronts, which are the culmination of the efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II. He stressed the importance of continuing work and cooperation to enhance ties to serve common interests and increase the volume of trade exchange, lauding the Azerbaijani positions in support of the Hashemite Custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. For his part, the Azerbaijani ambassador commended the great and effective role played by Jordan under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II to establish security and stability in the region, stressing his country’s interest in developing relations with Jordan.
