Amman – Senate President Faisal Fayez on Tuesday held separate meetings with Yemeni ambassador Jalal Faqira and Chilean Ambassador Jorge Tagle, discussing bilateral relations and regional developments. In his meeting with the Yemeni envoy, Fayez reiterated Jordan’s support for Yemen, focusing on restoring security, stability, and unity, and emphasized the importance of reaching political solutions to end the Yemeni crisis.

According to Jordan News Agency, this support aligns with Jordan’s commitment to ending the suffering of the Yemeni people. He also highlighted the need for Arab unity in addressing the ongoing crisis in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories. Ambassador Faqira expressed gratitude for Jordan’s supportive stance towards Yemen and acknowledged His Majesty King Abdullah II’s efforts in promoting Arab unity and defending Arab issues, particularly the Palestinian cause.

During his meeting with Chilean Ambassador Jorge Tagle, Fayez emphasized the importance of strengthening economic ties between Jordan and Chile, including increasing trade volume and overcoming obstacles that hinder economic relations. Fayez thanked Chile for its support of Arab causes and called on the international community to address the war crimes and massacres in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories by Israel. He stressed the need for Israel to be held accountable for its violations of international law. Ambassador Tagle commended His Majesty King Abdullah II for his pivotal role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
