Serbia to boost economic cooperation with Syria, Foreign Minister says

Serbian Foreign Minister, Nikola Selaković, affirmed his country’s desire to develop and boost relations with Syria in all fields and its permanent support for Syria’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.

 

Selaković who met Chargé d’ affairs of the Syrian Embassy in Belgrade, Ammar Awad, said that Serbia has an interest to intensify political dialogue and enhance economic cooperation and trade exchange with Syria.

 

He welcomed the upcoming visit of Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Faysal Mikdad who will attend meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement to be held in Belgrade this month, referring to the importance of cooperation between the two countries.

 

For his part, Syrian acting Chargé d’ Affairs expressed Syria’s readiness to develop relations with Serbia in all fields, stressing the importance of facing challenges and pressures to which the two countries are exposed and preventing any interference in their internal affairs.
