A severe storm system made its way into the US State of Georgia on Sunday, producing “thunderstorms, high-velocity straight-line winds, and multiple tornadoes.” According to Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, a state of emergency was issued Sunday morning after severe storms and tornadoes struck the state.

“As we continue to monitor the weather and work with local partners to address damage throughout the day, I ask all Georgians to join us in praying for those impacted,” said the Governor in a statement.

Meanwhile, the National Weather Service said that at least one tornado was indicated by radar Sunday morning in LaGrange, Georgia, about an hour south of Atlanta.

Earlier today, Kuwait Embassy in Washington called on citizens southern US to follow directives of local authorities as a result of the powerful hurricane that struck the states of Mississippi and Alabama in the past two days, and resulted in killing 26 people.
