The main moon-sighting committee for the month of Shawwal 1444 AH will meet at the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs on Thursday 20 April 2023.
The meeting will be held under the auspices of Dr. Mohammed Said Al Ma’amari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs. Members of the committee include His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed Hamad Al Khalili, Grand Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman, Eng. Khalid Hilal Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Wa’el Saif Al Harrasi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowmenets and Religious Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed Salim Al Akhzami, Judge at the Supreme Court, Sheikh Abdulrahman Abdulsattar Al Kamali, Judge at the Supreme Court and Sheikh Mohammed Salim Al Nahdi, Judge at the Supreme Committee.
The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs requested Omani citizens and residents to look out for the new moon by cooperating with field teams in the Wilayat or reporting any sighting to the subcommittees.
