H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, toured the Liwa International Festival (Moreeb Dune 2024), the largest multi-sport event of its kind in the Middle East.

Organised by the Liwa Sports Club and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT – Abu Dhabi), this year’s festival will take place between 8th to 31st December.

As one of the largest and multi sports festivals in the UAE, the exciting 23-day event includes a variety of races like: cars, bikes, drift, UTVs in addition to traditional competition like falconry, camels and horse racing.

During the visit, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan was briefed on the most prominent sporting events and tournaments and the attractive heritage and entertainment activities included in the festival.

Sheikh Hamdan began the visit by inspecting the new road leading to the festival and the additional parking lots that had been implemented.

The tour included the Liwa Village, which offers a variety of artistic and cultural prog
rammes, the Smart Farm, families and public camps, and RV parking area.

Sheikh Hamdan stressed that the Liwa International Festival is an extension of the success and excellence that it witnesses every season in the Al Dhafra region and in Liwa in particular.

It is also an extension of the international reputation that Tal Mereb has gained after years of excellence in organising and hosting many special tournaments and sports.

He noted the great value and status of the festival, which has become an important tourist landmark for Al Dhafra and also a destination for participants, professionals and visitors throughout its days.
