Ankara, SANA- The US army is plundering Syria’s wealth and training terrorist organizations in its illegal bases, including al-Tanf base, stressing that its presence on Syrian territory violates international law, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said during his talks with Turkish counterpart Hulusi Akar.

The US military has been present for a long time on Syrian territory in violation of international law, and that the militants of terrorist groups are being trained in the US bases on Syrian territory, such as the al-Tanf base, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Friday.

Shoigu said that the unilateral measures imposed by the US on Syria are illegal as they exacerbated the difficult humanitarian situation in the country as a result of the crisis.

He condemned the US occupation forces’ seizure of areas in Syria and extracting oil and gas illegally, asserting that this is a theft of the wealth of a sovereign country.
