The provincial HQ of the Good Party in Istanbul came under a shooting attack on Friday morning and the unknown assailant managed to flee the scene before the police arrive.

Local media carried photos of a bullet piercing the window of the party building while investigators started probing the attack.

Leader of party Meral Aksener denounced the attack, which took place one and a half months ahead of the presidential elections.

Aksener, who stated support to Kemal Kilicdaroglu – the presidential hopeful of the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), blamed the attack on President Recep Tayyip Erdogan who runs for reelection. On a similar note, Istanbul Mayor Ekrem ?mamoglu, of the CHP, denounced the attack, calling on the security services to step up efforts and bring the assailant to justice
