The electricity distribution company in the Gaza Strip said that the available amount of electricity from sources is 66 megawatts, while the average demand for energy is 450 megawatts for the past 12 hours.The company said that the average energy deficit reached 85 per cent and major malfunctions impacted the electricity networks with all their components in various governorates, which contributed to a high percentage of the electrical deficit in the sector and led to a delay in providing power to many areas.The company called on citizens to take the necessary precautions in anticipation of the possibility of changes occurring in the electricity distribution schedule due to the closure of the crossings and its impact on the entry of fuel to the generation station or any malfunctions that may occur on the lines.It called on the international community and all parties to urgently intervene in order to allow the entry of fuel shipments required to operate the generating station to ensure the provision of ele
ctricity to vital facilities such as hospitals, exhaust pumps, treatment plants, drinking water wells, desalination plants, and other service facilities.
