Shoukry reiterates Egypt’s support to int’l efforts on fighting terrorism

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry has reiterated Egypt’s support to international efforts aiming at combating terrorism and extremist thoughts.

Shoukry’s statements came during a meeting Monday with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at the alliance headquarters in the Belgian capital Brussels within the framework of consultations with all international parties on regional and international issues of mutual concern and Egypt’s viewpoints towards them.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafez said the meeting also dealt with means to activate and develop cooperation and partnership programs between the two sides in addition to a number of issues including cyber security, terror and migration combat and mine clearance in addition to human and technological capabilities building to deal with the challenges.

He also said the talks covered security challenges in the Middle East and North Africa, the Sahel and Sahara region and the Horn of Africa.
