President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said on Tuesday2/8/2022 that Egypt’s International Olympic City in the New Administrative Capital should integrate with other sporting and cultural edifices to create a comprehensive approach consistent with Egypt’s sporting infrastructure, including stadiums and sporting halls.

During a meeting with Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi, Finance Minister Mohamed Maait, Planning Minister Hala el Saaed and Chairman of Egypt’s Intelligence Service Abbas Kamel, the president said such sporting facilities will help Egypt host world championships, thus serving the country’s plans to promote its tourist, cultural and civilizational capabilities.

Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said the president followed up on the executive status of a project to develop Egypt’s sporting infrastructure and ways to make the utmost use of the country’s organizational capabilities to host world championships.

The president was briefed on efforts exerted to develop Egypt’s sporting infrastructure and raise the efficiency of its international airports, the transport network and roads in Greater Cairo.

He also reviewed the work progress at Egypt’s International Olympic City, which is reckoned as the largest sporting edifice in the Middle East.

The meeting reviewed the city’s organizational and administrative structure and the plan set to operate it in partnership with international experts.
